American Tree Service

GROWING STRONG

Meet Arthur Schwank, the owner of American Tree Service. His journey from a construction worker to the boss of his own thriving tree care business is nothing short of inspiring. Five years ago, Arthur swapped his hard hat for a chainsaw, trading in building for pruning and hasn’t looked back since.

American Tree Service does it all when it comes to trees—trimming, removal, stump grinding, you name it. And it’s been growing strong since Arthur set up shop in 2019.

“I do business with Vermeer Midwest because they are close, always have my back, and their stuff just works. When there’s an issue, they fix it fast.” – Arthur Schwank

CHANGING THE GAME

Initially, Arthur and his team were making do with a small, less powerful stump cutter. After renting for a while, he realized it was high time to own one. He called his sales rep, Andy Van Soelen, to check out the SC852 model, but we didn’t have any in stock. So instead, he ended up demoing the new 115 hp SC1052 stump cutter. Talk about a happy accident—Arthur tested it and instantly knew there was no way he was giving it back.

The SC1052 has been a game changer for Arthur’s business. It’s 4-bar linkage lets it cut wider with minimal repositioning. This means Arthur and his crew can blast through some large stumps in a snap, saving time and making jobs smoother. The SC1052 is also built to squeeze through tight spots like backyard gates, which is super handy. Plus, it has a remote control option, so his team can stay safe and see better while they work.

Arthur’s story with American Tree Service is more than just a tale of business success. It’s about spotting a gap in the market, grabbing the right tools, and going all in. Vermeer Midwest is looking forward to continued partnership with American Tree Service in the future.
